Positive Quote: “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”- Milton Berle

I believe the essence of this quote is saying that sometimes you have to take your fate or destiny into your own hands.

If you want a promotion, don’t wait for it to one day happen. Talk to your supervisor and let them know you are interested; ask what skills or experiences you need to gain in order to progress to the next level in your career.

If you don’t like where you live, research areas you want to live in and find a way to move.

I learned at an early age that you had to go for things you wanted in life, otherwise you couldn’t complain about things. I was a child of the military. From age 8 until adulthood I was surrounded by Marines. As a young child I lived on the base in Camp Pendleton, CA. I was exposed to the rigidness of military life as well as the flip side of team building, camaraderie, and pushing of others to succeed. Maybe that is why I like this quote so much.

What does this quote mean to you?

Have a fabulous Friday and let’s go build some doors.
