Positive Quote: “Many of life’s failures are experienced by people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” – Thomas Edison

I smile when I read this quote. I can just picture in my head, Thomas Edison and his 100th attempt at the light bulb. The 99 other times, is he telling himself he has successfully shown how not to do it? Or, is he second guessing his ideas and asking himself if he will ever succeed. Or, is he confident and the 100th time is no different than the first attempt in regards to drive, determination, and passion?

How many of us give something our all and somewhere, somehow we give up, move on, or don’t try again?

I don’t think this quote is saying to never give up. I believe there are times when giving up, letting go, and moving on is the healthier alternative for you mentally, emotionally, and sometimes physically.

I think the quote is a reminder to not easily give up, to try other alternatives, to ensure that you have given it your all and held nothing back. Success usually follows. In other words, trying and not succeeding is not true failure, it is a part of the process of discovering what works.

What do you think this quote is trying to say?

Have a fabulous Friday and enjoy the upcoming 3 day Labor Day weekend.
