Positive Quote: “You can’t shake hands with a clenched fist.” —Gandhi
Visualizing two people meeting and trying to shake hands with clenched fists would be comical. However, don’t we do this quite often? Don’t we, at times, meet someone with a closed mind? Granted, it is easier to see the clenched fist than it is to see the closed mind. Yet, both make the introductions/meeting get off on the wrong foot.. err hand.
I have found that taking a breath, or closing my eyes for a second, or even just picturing something pleasant helps me clear my mind and not carry over negative thoughts into an introduction or meeting. It is not easy and I do tend to remind myself from time to time.
