“The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. This myth asserts that people simply either have certain charismatic qualities or not. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born. Failing organizations are usually over-managed and under-led.” – Warren G. Bennis

Positive Quote: “The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. This myth asserts that people simply either have certain charismatic qualities or not. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born. Failing organizations are usually over-managed and under-led.” – Warren G. Bennis

If you rewind the clock several years back, most leaders of today were not leaders of yesterday.

I am a firm believer that a leader is not born, they are made with kindness, mentoring, guidance, and a host of other things.

In my daily interactions I ask myself if how I am interacting with others would make them a better leader or push them away from leadership. It is a tough line and sometimes I just don’t know the answer. More often than not I do and that is what keeps me going.

What does this quote bring to your mind? Are leaders born or made?

Have a terrific Tuesday.
