Positive Quote: “Courage is the main quality of leadership, in my opinion, no matter where it is exercised. Usually it implies some risk — especially in new undertakings. Courage to initiate something and to keep it going, pioneering and adventurous spirit to blaze new ways, often, in our land of opportunity.” – Walt Disney
Have a terrific Tuesday as we get ready to start a new year tomorrow.
Where will your courage take you in 2014?
Positive quote: “Everyone falls down. Getting back up is how you learn to walk.” – Walt Disney
I really like this quote. Sometimes I tend to focus more on the falling down part and less on the getting up. I think I am my own worst critic. Quotes like this one help me to remember to focus on the positive, the getting up.
Getting up takes action, takes a choice and decision to move forward.
What do you think?
Have a marvelous Monday.
Positive Quote: “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” – Walt Disney
My husband and I went to go see the new Disney movie – Saving Mr. Banks. I laughed, I cried, I was shocked, and overall I felt a sense of peace with my life. I won’t say I am a Disney fanatic; however, I am a Disney fan. The music alone gets me singing.
The movie last night put my thoughts along the lines of Disney quotes. There are so many to choose from.
The above quote reminds me that people are the foundation of any success. People can take a dream and make it a reality or even a better reality that the dream itself.
Which Walt Disney quote is your favorite?
Or…. Which Disney movie is your favorite? Mine is Aladdin.
Have a fabulous Friday.
Positive Quote: “Christmas is a tonic for our souls. It moves us to think of others rather than of ourselves. It directs our thoughts to giving.” – B.C. Forbes
However you may choose to celebrate or not celebrate this season, I think it is more about thinking of others over ourselves that makes the holiday what it is.
Relax, do something fun, and enjoy the holiday season.
“What is success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
That is to have succeeded.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote kinda sums it all up, doesn’t it?
Have a tremendous Thursday.
Positive Quote: “By the work one knows the workman.” – Jean de la Fontaine
I could not find a picture I liked for this quote.
The reason I like this quote is because it speaks to me on multiple levels of life. From work to personal and to interactions with people I don’t even know.
The quote has me asking myself….. How am I viewed by my peers, my manager, and my team? How does that compare to how I view myself? Are there huge gaps?
Am I someone who comes to work late, do I make time to talk to others, do I volunteer for extra assignments, do I go out of my comfort zone?
I know that each and every day we all make snap judgments based on what we perceive to see in others.
- If we are in the market to buy a house, we judge how the owners take care of it by how they upkeep the yard or by how much clutter and dirt we see
- If we see a person yelling at a child in a busy grocery store, we judge what kind of parent they are from that one interaction
- If we see a manager berate an employee in front of others, we judge what type of leader they are
In my opinion there are too many ways we can judge others…sometimes unfairly. It is so very hard to set a good example all the time, we all have not so good days.
However, this quote helps remind me that by my actions, deeds, and work is how people will know me.
What do you think?
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Positive Quote: “We work to become, not to acquire.” – Elbert Hubbard
I like this quote; it helps to remind me that acquiring things should not be a core focus for me. I want to become a better me.
It is easy to get caught up in the acquiring mode. I have a favorite fiction author and one goal I have is to own all her books. Granted, I do re-read them quite frequently when I need to just relax and let my mind drift. Yet, there may be an author I like and don’t quite like other things they write, in those cases I should and more often than not do get rid of those books by either donation or recycling back to a used book dealer. I know this is only one type of acquiring. Yet, I will continue to ask myself before I acquire the whys of it because more often than not, it is linked to my past and not my future. The future is about becoming to me and acquiring can be linked to the past.
Those are my thoughts on this quote. What do you think?
Have a terrific Tuesday.
