“Statistics are no substitute for judgment.” – Henry Clay

Positive Quote: “Statistics are no substitute for judgment.” – Henry Clay

It is in the knowing what to do with the statistics, the data that is the most valuable. The world has more metrics than can be imagined. The sorting, sifting, and understanding… that takes time and judgment.

What do you think?

Have a marvelous Monday.

  1. Priscilla – You make a very valid point. The world indeed has more metrics than what it needs. But at the other hand, we may be short of actionable metrics or metrics that could help us take the right decisions. Designing measurement is more important, so we know what we need to measure and how to measure and as you rightly said above – what do we want to do with those numbers. Do we have the right SMEs to tell us what are the good trends and what are the bad ones and which ones make impact on long term benefits or losses.
Overall, very interesting thought. Thanks for sharing!!
