Positive Quote: “A man can accomplish anything when he realizes he is a part of something bigger – a team of people who share that conviction can change the world.” – Agent Coulson relaying a quote from Nick Fury – Marvel Agents of Shield (Agent Coulson = Clark Gregg and Nick Fury = Samuel L Jackson)

I am a huge Marvel fan. I first got into Marvel in the late 80’s with their comic books. Something about the way a Marvel character is conflicted and not holistically good, yet works towards the greater good resonated with me.

As for the TV show, Marvel Agents of Shield, I will admit I DVR it and am pulled into each episode. I was watching it last night and when the above quote was spoken I paused, rewound, played, and paused, rewound, and played over and over until I could get all the words down on a note on my phone. That line, spoken at a time when a team is not at the top of their game, when it looks things may get worse, and when not everyone is motivated…that line captured me.

There are so many examples where a single person being part of a larger whole can change the world…look at recent elections where the winner came down to a handful of votes, look at team sports where no one person wins the game (or loses it), look around you to those you work with, together you are making a difference, getting things accomplished.

Yes, there will be rough days where you may want to scream, pull your hair out, step away, disengage, or any other things… however, if you and your team can help each other, can build each other up, you can share that conviction (that goal, that mission) and then you can accomplish more that you thought possible.

What do you think?

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
