Positive Quote: “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change.” – Charles Darwin

Change, everywhere I look there is change and adaptability is key to not just surviving change, but thriving in it. I believe that how you react to change can impact your mental and emotional state as well as help determine your future.

For example: say you have two people exposed to the same level of change and one embraces it and responds to it while the other digs in their heels and refuses to adapt. Who will be the most successful?

Using a personal story, my daughter got her first part time job at Pizza Hut. She was excited, yet did not like the management style and thus was unhappy. She decided to apply to other places while still working at Pizza Hut and got a job at Qdoba. She accepted the job and had two jobs for a bit before quitting Pizza Hut. She likes Qdoba and enjoys the management style there much better. If my daughter had not been responsive and adaptable to change, she would still have a part time job she disliked for fear of having no job. I told her many times that I was proud of her and that sometimes we have jobs we don’t like or don’t fit us and we should not be afraid of going for something else and getting out of our comfort zone.

This quote reminds me that change is a constant and if I want to be successful I need to respond positively and adapt.

What do you think of this quote?

Have a marvelous Monday.
