“Words once printed assume a life of their own.” – Wilma Askinas

Positive Quote: “Words once printed assume a life of their own.” – Wilma Askinas

I also believe that words once said aloud take on a life of their own. Once words are out there, they cannot be unsaid, unread, or unheard.

This quote reminds me to choose my words with care, to not do a knee jerk reaction, or make something up to fill in the void.

In my home life, this could be something as simple as looking to praise versus criticize if, for example, my daughter made dinner, yet left a huge mess in the kitchen.

In work life it could be asking more questions versus assuming someone did something because they didn’t care, were careless, or something other of that nature.

The ‘truth’ can be subjective, based on whose truth it is and their reasoning. Each person brings their own thoughts, ideas, opinions, and background to the table. We should not be quick to judge.

What do you think of this quote?

Have a marvelous Thursday.
