“It is never to late too be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

Positive Quote: “It is never to late too be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

Have you ever got caught in the loop of not having time to do the things you wanted to have time to do? Where life keeps coming at you and it seems the days pass into months and the months into years?

I used to….that is until maybe 9-10 years ago, or so. I realized that we have to make time for the things we want to do. I eliminated the word “someday” and tried to plan the time. Granted, there are items still to be done and memories to make, yet all in all, I am very content and happy.

This quote acts as a reminder to me to not rest and to push the boundaries to see what the future Priscilla looks like.

“When your intentions are pure, so too will be your success.” ― Charles F. Glassman

Positive Quote: “When your intentions are pure, so too will be your success.” ― Charles F. Glassman

Today is a day of reflection for me and I am sure for many as we look back at the recent political landscape and look forward to a new president. Whether we agree, disagree, or didn’t vote, the outcome is the same as we all share the same country.

I am choosing to focus on what is within my control and influence. This quote stood out to me, in part because it deals with intentions.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and here is to our intentions being pure.

Live each day in the way you want to be remembered.

Positive Quote: “People will always notice something about you. It might be the way you walk or the way you talk, or just simply your personality. Live each day in the way you want to be remembered. Live in such a way that people will be inspired by those unique qualities that you have and strive to live better lives for themselves.” ― Amaka Imani Nkosazana

This quote reminds me of a conversation I had yesterday with someone. I mentioned to them that they should picture what they wanted their reputation to look like, what they wanted others to see them as and then, using that image, to focus on building it and making it a reality.

I believe if you approach each interaction with this in mind, it goes much more smoothly and increases the likelihood of collaborative effort.

How do I want to be remembered? For me, I want my family to know that I loved them and to feel that love. I want my friends to know I care for them and they can trust me with the not so fun stuff of life. In work, I want to be known for being approachable, willing to take on new, challenging projects, and mst of all be valued for my mind.

“Grudges are for those who insist that they are owed something; forgiveness, however, is for those who are substantial enough to move on.” ― Criss Jami, Salomé

Positive Quote: “Grudges are for those who insist that they are owed something; forgiveness, however, is for those who are substantial enough to move on.” ― Criss Jami, Salomé

When I think about grudges or harboring negative feelings it reminds me that to do so takes little to no effort. However, in moving on, or letting go, that takes a focus, will, and desire.

I have this thing that works for me. I won’t call it a trick; it is more like a technique. I close my eyes and raise my hands to my shoulder level facing inwards. Then, after a deep breath, I fling my hands out and say ‘swoosh’ as if I am forcing the negative away and out of my body. There are times where I try this and can’t do it, my hands won’t move and I know that I am having a difficult time in letting go of the negative. It may take me a few attempts but I do get to the point where I can ‘swoosh’ it out. Once it is out, I can release the negative and move on.

This has me wondering, what do other people do that works for them? Letting go, in my opinion, is difficult yet more freeing.
