“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde

Positive Quote: “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde

I love this quote; it brings a smile to my face each and every time I read it. It seems so easy, so natural…yet, it had to be something more to even need to be said.

Thinking of myself, I have been working since I was a young child, from helping at a stable (in exchange for lessons), to working as an after school counselor (of sorts, for elementary children when I was an older child myself – teenager), to your typical fast food jobs, and then to retail corporations, then to finding myself in the world of finance.

One thing I take no matter where I am is me. I have found through the years that the best way to be is to be you. We each have things that make us uniquely us. Those things, those experiences, those thoughts are what make life interesting and help us achieve more together. To me this quote resonates inclusiveness to me. How can we be inclusive unless we are aware that we are all different?

Someone once told me many a year ago that you have to be vulnerable to build authentic relationships. Vulnerable would mean sharing of your true self and soul as a person. Once I really listened, I will admit I became happier, more confident, and more self-aware of myself. This helps me ensure that the person I am at work is the person I am at home and the person I am when I interact anywhere with others.

What do you think of this quote?

Have a marvelous day and hopefully, we can all be ourselves.

Kind regards,

Priscilla
